17 hours later, I find that the Preview.app does indeed give you the shutter count. Preview->tools->Inspector->more info: then the Nikon tab has the shutter count !! The only way to get as close as possible to the real shutter count is to upload an image to the stated webpage that was taken as close as possible before the shutter count was reset. The webpage reads out the shutter count from the image data, so uploading an old image will give to the shutter count at the moment when the image was taken. Herbert
I've had the camera since Dec. 26th, 2013, so a total of 49 days. Both my wife and I are using the camera for a Photo365 project (just a hobby) and have ~4850 shutter actuations so far, so ~100 shots a day.
